See a video shot by Gary Kempton inside the car while he rode in his restored 1971 East African Safari Rally Car #33 with Björn Waldegård at the wheel. Swedish rally race car legend Mr. Waldegård was the original driver of the car in Africa in 1971.

The 1955 Porsche Carrera 1500 RS from the Rawson Collection won an Amelia Award in the Sports And GT Cars (1952 - 1955) class.

Four restorations by GK Restorations were at the 2008 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance including the Porsche 550 Spyder shown here. The 1955 550 Spyder was originally shown at the 1955 Paris Salon de l'Auto. This restoration required us to remove a layer of paint to reveal it's original paint color. This car won a Porsche Corporate Award for Most Outstanding Porsche.

Also at the show: 1956 356A Speedster Super Outlaw restored by GK Restorations in 2002 and featured in the September 2002 issue of 911 & Porsche World magazine was auctioned by RM Auctions.

The 1971 East African Safari Rally car was on display, it has been featured in the March 2008 issue of 911 & Porsche World magazine.

The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, once again, has handed an Amelia Award over to one of our customers. Doctor Harry Bopp, and his wife, Judy, had their 1957 Porsche 356 A 1500 GS Carrera Speedster restored by us, and later prepared for showing at the 2009 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Their Carrera sounded quite content as it drove away with its award.
